Melissa Klimo-Major is a Cleveland based yoga and meditation teacher. Her mission is to create freedom, and she applies yoga as a means to help remove the boundaries we build in our minds, bodies, and lives.

MKM’s classes are approachable, sequenced for all levels of practitioner to find their freedom of flow within the structure of strong alignment and purposeful pranayama. She balances her love of teaching creative vinyasa with her ability to powerfully ground through meditation and mindfulness practices.

Melissa graduated from her first teacher training in 2012, with a 300-hour certificate through Awaken Yoga School. She also holds 300 hours in Advanced Yoga Psychology studies, and she entered Tiffany Cruikshank’s Yoga Medicine program in 2016, currently working toward 1000 hours. She is registered through Yoga Alliance as an E-RYT and YACEP.

Why Elements Studios?

Vanessa found yoga during her sophomore year at Lake Erie College in 2012, and completed her 200-hour Hatha and 200 hour Vinyasa certifications in 2015 and 2016 respectively with Awaken Yoga.

What makes your instruction unique?

I am experienced in uniting mixed levels groups and empowering students to understand we all have a right to be who we are and where we are, even through the more challenging moments. In a studio class, I weave mindfulness techniques with smartly sequenced asana, creating an opportunity to fully engage and balance body, mind, and spirit.

What is your daytime gig? How does your yoga influence you in it?

I’m a full time yoga entrepreneur. In addition to teaching at Elements, I teach a handful of private and corporate classes, and I created and manage Balance & Brews®, a yoga and beer social brand. I’m also an aromatherapist, and I craft small batch soaps and products for yogis. My meditation, yoga, travel, continuing education, and natural beauty offerings are always evolving at Yoga clearly influences all of my days, but I never start one without a morning meditation!
